Raksha Bandhan - Multifaith Holy Days by Religion
Raksha Bandhan is that the Hindu competition that celebrates brotherhood and love. It's celebrated on the total moon within the month of Sravana within the calendar.
The word Raksha means that protection, while Bandhan is that the verb to tie. Historically, throughout the competition sisters tie a rakhi, a bracelet made from interlocking red and gold threads, around their brothers' wrists to celebrate their relationship.
